Team Sponsor Steel City Cutzs Team Colors Red and gray Team Mom To be announced Practices & Scrimmages Angels top Avonworth Yankees, 8-7: Justin Bees led the way on the mound with three solid innings of starting pitching, surrendering only three runs and striking out six. Caleb Little-Poole and Taz Wilson combined for an excellent inning of 9-year-old pitching, allowing only one run; Wilson striking out two in the process. The Yankees only issued four walks over the course of the game, so the Angels offensive production had to come from their bats. JJ Younger stroked two doubles, scored twice and knocked in three runs. The highlight of the game, though, came in the bottom of the fourth, with the Angels trailing 4-3. With the bases loaded and two outs, Jack Kenny strode to the plate and promptly smashed the first pitch he saw deep over the right-fielder's head for an inside-the-park homerun. Though the Yankees scored three in the fifth to make it close, JT Shannon and the Angels defense secured the win, with Shannon recording the final four outs without allowing a hit. |
